Overview
There are destinations that are beautiful. And then there is Ladakh — a place so staggeringly vast, so wildly raw, and so profoundly silent that it doesn’t just take your breath away — it changes something inside you. The Land of High Passes is one of the last great wildernesses on earth, a high-altitude Himalayan desert of snow-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, ancient Buddhist monasteries perched on cliff edges, and roads that wind through landscapes so dramatic they barely seem real.
This 7 Days 6 Nights Ladakh Group Tour takes you through the very heart of this extraordinary destination — from the historic lanes and military memorials of Leh, across the legendary Khardung La (one of the world’s highest motorable roads) into the remote sand dunes and double-humped camels of Nubra Valley, all the way to the culturally fascinating former Pakistani village of Turtuk on the Line of Control, and finally to the most iconic view in all of India — the endlessly shifting turquoise waters of Pangong Lake at 14,270 feet above sea level.
This is not a resort holiday. This is not a poolside escape. This is an encounter with one of the most magnificent and humbling landscapes on the planet — a journey that demands a little courage, rewards you with absolute wonder, and leaves you with memories that no amount of luxury travel can replicate.
Designed as a Jain-friendly group tour, we have carefully arranged vegetarian and Jain-suitable meals at every stop across the itinerary. We want to be honest with you from the start — Ladakh is a remote high-altitude region, and food here is simple, wholesome, and functional rather than elaborate. You will not find a luxury buffet spread at 14,000 feet. What you will find is pure, clean, nourishing food that fuels you for one of the greatest adventures of your life. And that, in Ladakh, is more than enough.

Itinerary
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL TRAVELLERS — PLEASE READ
Ladakh is one of India's most remote and high-altitude destinations. Travelling here is a privilege and a genuine adventure — and it comes with a few important realities that every group member should understand before departure:
🏔️ Acclimatization is non-negotiable. Leh sits at 11,562 feet above sea level. Day 1 is a mandatory rest day — please do not plan any strenuous activity regardless of how well you feel. Headaches, mild breathlessness, and fatigue are completely normal for the first 24 hours. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, eat light, and let your body adjust.
🍽️ Food in Ladakh is simple and wholesome — not elaborate. This is one of the most remote regions in India. Restaurants here serve clean, nourishing, home-style meals — not luxury buffets. Breakfast typically includes poha, parathas, bread, butter, jam, and tea or coffee. Lunch and dinner are simple dal, sabzi, roti, rice, and similar staples. We have arranged Jain-friendly pure vegetarian food at all stops throughout the itinerary. Although most restaurants in the region serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, we have ensured that your group's food is prepared separately, served from a dedicated section, and plated using separate utensils. You can travel with confidence that your vegetarian and Jain dietary requirements are taken care of at every stop.
Your Ladakh adventure begins the moment your flight descends through the Himalayas — one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring flight approaches in the world, with snow-capped peaks stretching in every direction as far as the eye can see.
Upon landing at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Check in and rest for the majority of the day — acclimatization is essential and non-negotiable at this altitude. Drink plenty of water, eat light, and let your body gently adjust to the thin mountain air.
A simple, nourishing group lunch will be provided at the hotel.
Late evening, if you are feeling well, take a gentle stroll to Leh Market — the charming and colourful old bazaar lanes lined with Ladakhi handicrafts, pashmina shawls, thangka paintings, and local produce
Return to the hotel for a simple, nourishing dinner and an early night.
- Overnight: Leh
- Meals: Dinner
After a light breakfast, a full day of remarkable sightseeing around Leh and its surroundings — covering some of Ladakh's most historically significant and visually stunning spots.
- Hall of Fame — Begin at this deeply moving and important museum, built by the Indian Army in honour of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the Kargil War. An essential and profoundly patriotic experience that leaves no one unmoved.
- Gurudwara Patthar Sahib — Visit this sacred Sikh shrine, located 40 km from Leh and built in 1571 in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's visit to this region. A place of great spiritual significance and tranquil beauty amid the mountain landscape.
- Magnetic Hill — Experience one of Ladakh's most famous natural phenomena — a stretch of road where your vehicle, with its engine switched off, appears to roll uphill against gravity. The explanation is optical illusion, but the experience is genuinely extraordinary!
- Sangam (Nimu) — Stand at the dramatic confluence where the glacier-cold Zanskar River meets the mighty Indus River — two colours of water visibly merging in the middle of a vast Himalayan valley. A spectacular natural sight. Optional river rafting on the Zanskar is available at additional cost.
- Evening: Return to Leh for leisure time and shopping in the Leh Market.
Simple Jain-friendly lunch and dinner arranged.
- Overnight: Leh
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
An early morning departure for one of the most thrilling and legendary drives in the world.
The road climbs steadily through dramatic switchbacks and military checkpoints before reaching the summit of Khardung La — at 17,582 feet (5,359 metres), one of the world's highest motorable roads. Standing at the top, surrounded by snow and sky and silence, with prayer flags fluttering in the thin cold wind — is a moment that stays with you forever. Take your time for photos at the iconic signboard before descending into the extraordinary hidden world of Nubra Valley.
A simple packed lunch will be provided on the route. As we drive deeper into some of the most remote and rugged mountains in the world, we want to gently remind you — the meals here are simple, basic, and made with enormous heart. Think dal and rice or parathas with achaar. The people of these mountains work in extreme conditions just to bring basic necessities to their own tables — and they feed us with everything they have.
In the afternoon, head to the famous Hunder Sand Dunes — a surreal landscape of golden sand dunes rising improbably from the Himalayan desert — and enjoy a double-humped Bactrian Camel Ride across the dunes. These rare and majestic animals, native to Central Asia, are found here in one of the only places in India where they still roam.
Simple Jain-friendly dinner at the camp or hotel.
- Overnight: Nubra Valley (Hunder/Diskit)
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch (on route), Dinner
An early morning drive through the remote and strikingly beautiful Shyok Valley toward Turtuk — one of the most fascinating and off-the-beaten-path destinations in all of India.
Turtuk was part of Pakistan until it was captured by India during the 1971 war and only opened to tourists in 2010. It is one of the only Balti villages in India — a tiny community of approximately 4,000 people who still speak the ancient Balti language, follow Islam, and live in a way that has barely changed for centuries. Walk through the narrow stone lanes, meet the warm and welcoming locals, explore the traditional architecture and ancient apricot orchards, and on clear days — glimpse the distant snow-capped peak of K2, the world's second highest mountain, rising across the border in Pakistan.
💡 A note on lunch today: Lunch is not provided on this day — and this is intentional. At this altitude and in these remote mountains, a heavy meal can trigger mountain sickness and leave you feeling unwell for the rest of the day. Keep your stomach light, snack on small bites — protein bars, dry snacks, fruits — and most importantly, drink lots of water. Your body will thank you. Save your appetite for a warm, hearty dinner back at camp in the evening.
It is a humbling, eye-opening, and genuinely memorable experience — a reminder of how complex and fascinating the borderlands of India truly are.
Return to Nubra by evening.
- Overnight: Nubra Valley (Hunder/Diskit)
- Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Early morning visit to Diskit Monastery — the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in Nubra Valley, dramatically positioned on a rocky cliff above the valley floor, with a giant golden Maitreya Buddha statue gazing out across the landscape below. A deeply spiritual and visually magnificent start to the day.
Then depart for the journey that most guests describe as the single most breathtaking drive of their lives — across the remote Shyok Valley toward Pangong Lake. This is one of the least-travelled and most scenically spectacular routes in Ladakh — passing through remote villages, vast arid plains, and towering mountain corridors that open dramatically onto the lake.
A simple packed lunch will be provided on the route — light, basic, and made with heart, just the way Ladakhis does it.
Pangong Lake (Pangong Tso) — at 14,270 feet (4,350 metres) above sea level — is one of the world's highest and most extraordinary salt water lakes, stretching 134 km across the India-China border. The lake's water shifts through an almost impossible range of blues and turquoise throughout the day — from deep midnight blue in the morning to brilliant electric turquoise at midday to silver and gold at sunset — all framed by bare brown mountains and reflected in perfectly still water. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful places on the surface of the earth.
Settle into your lakeside camp and spend the evening simply sitting by the water — there is nothing more required.
- Overnight: Pangong Lake (Cottage/Camp)
- Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner
Wake before sunrise. Wrap yourself in a blanket. Walk to the lake shore. Watch the light change across Pangong as the sun rises over the mountains to the east — colours shifting from pink to gold to brilliant turquoise in the span of thirty minutes. This is why you came to Ladakh.
After a simple breakfast and one last lingering look at the lake, begin the long drive back to Leh via the mighty Chang La Pass — at 17,350 feet (5,288 metres), the third highest motorable road in the world — another high-altitude milestone to add to the journey.
En route, visit:
- Thiksey Monastery — one of Ladakh's most impressive and photogenic monasteries, a twelve-storey whitewashed complex rising from a rocky hillside with sweeping views across the Indus Valley
- Shey Palace — the former summer capital of the Kings of Ladakh, housing a magnificent 7.5-metre golden Buddha statue
- 3 Idiots School (Rancho's School) — the iconic filming location of one of Bollywood's most beloved films — a fun and nostalgic stop!
A simple packed lunch will be provided on the route to keep you going through the mountains (subject to conditions)
Arrive in Leh, check in to the hotel, and enjoy a free, relaxed evening — well earned after six extraordinary days in the mountains.
- Overnight: Leh
- Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner
After a final simple breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh for your onward flight home.
As your plane climbs above the mountains and Pangong's turquoise glimmer disappears below the clouds — carry with you the silence of the high passes, the weight of Ladakh's ancient history, and the rare and precious feeling of having stood somewhere truly extraordinary.
Ladakh does not leave you. It stays — quietly, permanently — somewhere deep inside.
Until next time, Ladakh.

FAQs
General
We want to be completely transparent with you — and we believe you'll appreciate the honesty.
Ladakh is one of the most remote high-altitude regions in India. Food here is simple, wholesome, and nourishing — not elaborate. Breakfast typically includes poha, parathas, bread, butter, jam, and tea or coffee. Lunch and dinner are straightforward dal, sabzi, roti, and rice — clean, simple, and filling. This is mountain food at altitude, and it does exactly what it needs to do.
We have made all arrangements for pure vegetarian and Jain-friendly food at every stop across the itinerary — Leh, Nubra Valley, Turtuk, and Pangong Lake. The restaurants we use serve food from a separate section for our group, using dedicated utensils. You can travel with confidence that your dietary requirements are taken care of.
What Ladakh cannot offer is a luxury buffet spread. What it does offer is some of the most magnificent scenery on the planet — and in that context, a simple hot dal and roti at the edge of Pangong Lake at 14,000 feet tastes like the finest meal you've ever eaten.
Leh sits at 11,562 feet (3,524 metres) above sea level — significantly higher than most people's bodies are accustomed to. At this altitude, the air contains approximately 30% less oxygen than at sea level. Altitude sickness (Acute Mountain Sickness) is a real and serious condition that can affect anyone regardless of age or fitness level. Symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath.
Day 1 is a mandatory complete rest day — no exceptions, regardless of how well you feel. This is non-negotiable for your safety and enjoyment of the rest of the trip. Drink 3–4 litres of water, avoid exertion, eat light, and let your body adjust. Most guests find that by Day 2 morning they feel considerably better and ready for the adventures ahead.
We strongly recommend consulting your doctor before travel and carrying Diamox (acetazolamide) tablets as a precautionary measure. Personal oxygen canisters, available at pharmacies in Leh, are also a wise purchase on arrival.
Leh is connected by air to Delhi, Mumbai, and several other Indian cities. Book Leh flights as early as possible — ideally 3–6 months in advance — as seats fill up extremely fast, especially in peak season (June to September). IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet operate regular Leh flights. Morning flights are generally preferred as afternoon weather in Leh can sometimes cause delays or diversions. We can assist with flight recommendations and timing coordination for the group.
Ladakh's weather is dramatically different from the rest of India — even in summer, temperatures drop sharply after sunset, especially at Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake.
Essential packing list:
- 🧥 Warm fleece jacket and a windproof outer layer — essential for evenings at Nubra & Pangong
- 🧣 Thermal innerwear — for Pangong Lake nights especially
- 🕶️ Quality UV-protection sunglasses — UV radiation is intense at high altitude
- 🧴 High SPF sunscreen — sun is extremely strong in the thin mountain air
- 💊 Personal medications + Diamox (consult doctor before) + basic first aid
- 💧 Reusable water bottle — stay hydrated at all times
- 👟 Comfortable trekking or walking shoes with good grip
- 📷 Camera with spare batteries — cold temperatures drain batteries quickly
- 💵 Sufficient cash — ATMs in Leh are limited and there are none in Nubra or Pangong
Mobile connectivity in Ladakh is limited. You can get reasonable connectivity with BSNL and Jio/Airtel postpaid (though not always reliable)
We strongly recommend informing family back home that you will be unreachable for portions of Days 3 to 6. Embrace the digital detox — it is one of the unexpected gifts of Ladakh. Download offline maps (Maps.me works well for Ladakh) before leaving Leh.
Ladakh is truly a destination for everyone who carries a spirit of adventure — couples, families, and senior travellers all travel here beautifully. A few considerations:
- Couples — Ladakh is deeply romantic in its grandeur and solitude. Pangong Lake at sunrise, the silence of Nubra at night, and the sheer scale of the mountains create a naturally awe-inspiring backdrop for any couple.
- Families with children — Teenagers and older children take to Ladakh with enormous enthusiasm. For younger children, please consult your paediatrician regarding altitude travel before booking.
- Senior travellers — Many of our most enthusiastic Ladakh travellers are senior guests. The key is acclimatization, hydration, and not rushing. The itinerary is paced thoughtfully — with Day 1 completely dedicated to rest — making it manageable for most senior travellers in good health. Please consult your doctor before booking if you have any cardiac or respiratory conditions.
Pick up a local prepaid SIM card at any Vietnam International Airport upon arrival from providers like Viettel, Mobifone, or Vietnamobile. Plans are very affordable and offer excellent data coverage across Hanoi, Halong Bay, Da Nang, Hoi An, and Phu Quoc. eSIM options are also available for compatible smartphones — convenient as you can activate before departure. WiFi is available at all hotels and most restaurants and cafes throughout the itinerary.
The Cu Chi Tunnels is one of Vietnam's most powerful and historically significant attractions — an extraordinary underground network stretching over 200km beneath the jungle northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, used by Viet Cong fighters during the Vietnam War. Your visit includes a documentary film introduction, a guided walk through the jungle to see camouflaged tunnel entrances and booby trap displays, and the option to actually crawl through sections of the narrow tunnels — a genuinely intense and illuminating experience. The tunnel crawling sections are tight and low — not recommended for guests with severe claustrophobia or mobility issues. An optional shooting range experience is also available at additional cost.
Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia's most deeply romantic destinations — and this 7-day itinerary captures its most beautiful highlights for couples. From waking up on a Halong Bay cruise surrounded by limestone karsts at sunrise, to releasing flower lanterns together on the Hoai River in lantern-lit Hoi An, walking hand-in-hand across the Golden Bridge above the clouds at Ba Na Hills, and exploring the electric energy of Saigon together — every destination on this trip has a naturally romantic and cinematic quality. We can arrange honeymoon add-ons on request including floral room decorations, welcome cakes, couples spa sessions, private sunset boat rides, and candlelight dinners. Just mention it while booking!
